Abstract
Distance learning has been developing over many years in higher education. The development of information technology and communication has modernized both, without any major changes. Initially offered to students who could not afford to go to university, practices meet other needs today. The data analyzed show that the right to education is not simply a matter of distance, but is a capacity of the students for building their own system by mixing on site and distant activities. Accessibility and flexibility are the two dimensions that characterize the use of these systems. The first one favours access to resources (flow model), and the other one, access to a structuring organization of training (brokerage model).
